The Acute Dialysis Nurse course is designed for registered nurses who want to specialize in managing critical situations in dialysis treatment. Students also learn how to manage patients with comorbidities, such as sepsis, heart failure, and diabetes, who require dialysis treatment.
The course curriculum includes hands-on training in emergency scenarios, such as cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, and pulmonary edema.
We cover advanced topics such as:
- Hemodialysis in the ICU
- Continuous renal replacement therapy
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Management of complications such as hypotension, arrhythmias, and bleeding
Students also learn how to work in interdisciplinary teams, communicate effectively with physicians, and provide patient and family education. Upon completion of the course, graduates are prepared to work in critical care settings, such as ICUs, emergency departments, and trauma centers.
